MANSTON MANSTON ROAD TR 3466-3566 4/3 (south side) 13.9.74 Barn about 50 metres south- west of Grove Farmhouse GV II Barn. Dated 1702. Timber framed and weatherboarded with corrugated iron roof. Half-hipped roof on flint and stone block base, with raking mid- strey. Interior: 5 bays with aisles with quadrant braces, and renewed clasped purlin roof.

The building was destroyed in the storm of 1989. Its remains stood on the site until sometime after 2004. A timber from the building was carved with the date of 1702. The walls were of flint with occasional chalk blocks, Kentish rag and some brick. Some of the chalk blocks were arranged in random chequerboard fashion and were possibly robbed from an earlier building. (2)
