[TQ 93155395] Crab Wood Earthwork.(1) An irregular-shaped enclosure comprising a bank and ditch, mutilated and much reduced by reafforestation. Within the enclosed area is a small pond. This is possibly a minor enclosure connected with pannage. [See TQ 95 SW12 also TQ 95 SW8] (2) The remains of a small bank and ditch complex situated on a very slight N.E. slope in old established woodland. Centred at TQ 93145394 one small enclosure originally may have occupied 0.5 ha in rectilinear plan. For the most part it is formed by a bank 4m. to 5m. wide and 0.1m to 0.3m. high with an inner ditch 2.5m. wide and 0.1m to 0.2m. deep. The northern side is cut through by a constructed pond. The south western side is paralleled by a track, as is the further similar bank which extends for at least 100m. to the N.W ; these earthworks may be old coppice boundaries rather than enclosures connected with pannage.
