The following text is from the original listed building designation:
RAMSGATE THE PLAINS OF TR 3865 SE WATERLOO (east side) 10/323 Nos. 68 + 70 and railed areas GV II Terrace house pair. Circa 1818. Stock brick part rendered. Three storeys and basement with rusticated basement to right (No. 70) and parapet with stacks to centre and to right. One segmentally headed sash to each house on 2nd floor, with 2 storey canted bays below with moulded architraves and cornices. French windows to right (No. 70) with tented verandah, scrolled pier brackets and simple rails. Half-glazed panelled doors to centre and to right with semi circular fanlights and keyed surrounds. Flights of 4 steps with simple rails. Hooped rails to left hand basement area, simple rails to right. Shown on Collard and Hurst's 1822 map of Ramsgate.
