Full Description

The following text is from the original listed building designation:
RAMSGATE SPENCER SQUARE TR 3764 NE + TR 3764 SE (south side) 12 + 18/377 Nos 3 to 13 inclusive 13.8.68 GV II Terrace row. 1830's. Stock brick in part painted with slate roofs. Three storeys and basement with string courses and parapet and stacks ranged from left to right. Each house unit with 2 glazing bar sashes with painted heads on second floor (20 bays in all) and with 2 French doors with simple iron rails. Bows to ground floor (painted, or rendered to no 6), with glazing bar sashes, and occasionally with Ionic pilasters. Doors to right of bows, with 7 sunk panels, semi-circular fanlights in gauged semi-circular surround with 2 moulded steps. Covered paving openings to basement, with glazing bar sashes. Part of James Townley's development of the barracks area, after 1838. (See Busson, Ramsgate, 109. )
