The following text is from the original listed building designation:
HIGH STREET 1. 5283 (North East Side) ST PETER'S The Coves. Cove Cottage. TR 3868 SW 3/19 II GV
2. Two houses adjoining at right angles to the street. C18. Red brick. The Coves is a tall house of 5 storeys and 1 window with 1 blocked window space, modillion eaves cornice, a 5-light bay window on the ground and 1st floors with glazing bars intact and a doorway up 7 steps with pilasters, open pediment and 6 panel moulded door, the top 2 panels cut away and glazed. The side elevation has 2 sashes with glazing bars missing. Coves Cottage is a long low house of 2 storeys and 6 windows with parapet, two small bay windows on both floors with glazing bars missing and a small porch with open pediment and Tuscan columns.
Nos 43 and 45 The Coves and Cove Cottage form a group.
