The following text is from the original listed building designation:
OAKLANDS AVENUE 1. 5283                                                            (North East Side)                                                            BROADSTAIRS                                                            Arch in grounds of                                                            No 25 (Courtlands) TR 3868 SW 3/134 II 2. Early C19.  This probably remains from the early C19 pleasure garden at Ranelagh Grove.  Built of burr bricks and stone fragments it incorporates an ogee-headed stone arch probably with some fragments of genuine mediaeval masonry.  Curiosity value.
OAKLANDS AVENUE shall be amended to read:-  VICARAGE STREET.
