The following text is from the original listed building designation:
ST NICHOLAS AT WADE CANTERBURY ROAD TR 26 NE (north side) Nether Hale 1/75 Barns about 50 metres south of Nether Hale GV II Two Barns. C16 and late C18. Timber framed on rubble stone and brick base. Weather boarded with corrugated asbestos roofs. C16 barn runs east- west, with heavy masonry base, part renewed with brick. Hipped roof, raking mid-strey. Interior: 5 bays and aisles with passing shores and clasped purlin roof. A C18 barn runs off north-west corner (left return), with half-hipped roof, with braces and struts to arcade and diagonal struts in roof.
