The following text is from the original listed building designation:
ST NICHOLAS AT WADE SHUART LANE TR 26 NE (west side) 1/100 Ambry Court 25-6-71 GV II House. C15 or C16, clad early C18. Timber framed and clad with red brick. Plain tiled roof. Originally a hall house with added service and chamber blocks at either end. Two storeys on plinth with hipped roof, projecting hip of return wing to left, and oversailing hip of return wing at end right. One flat dormer and stack to rear right, and large projecting C16 stack at end left, of rubble, flint and early brick, with moulded offset, with C18 brick chimney. Irregular fenestration of 1 wooden casement set low to left, 2 glazing bar sashes and 1 double sash on first floor,and 4 segmental headed sashes with flying cornices on ground floor. Door of 2 panels and flat hood to centre right. Two storey C20 canted bay window to left. Left return: with plinth, plat band and hipped roof with gablet. Interior: tall, slender crown post in left return, and unmoulded crown post in right return. Full frame visible, the 3 sections of the building appa ntly of different construction dates. Moulded ceiling joists and beam stops. C17 painted trompe l'oeil panels behind later pine panels in one room. Spiral stair leads down to cellar of chalk block and flint chequer with chamfered recesses with chamfered door jambs;at least C16.
