Full Description

The following text is from the original listed building designation:
RAMSGATE VICTORIA PARADE TR 36 NE (south side) 1/416 Fountains pool about 50 metres west of sunshelter and rock gardens GV II Fountain pool. 1923 by Sir John Burnet and Partners. Rendered brick. Pentagonal pool, now filled to east, backed by a wall about 4 feet high with end piers, with plinth and cornice. Central pedestal carrying large square bowl on circular base, the sides of the bowl incised with fish. On the centre of the pedestal a lion head water-spout in a sunflower surround, with moulded circular shapes to spouts to left and to right. The rear (west) side of the wall forms an integral bench, with a paved platform and 3 paved returned steps down to ground level. Part of the Winterstoke Gardens scheme of 1923, matching the sunshelter and rock gardens (see separate item).
