The following text is from the original listed building designation:
RAMSGATE VALE SQUARE TR 3764 NE (south side) 12/397 Nos. 43 and 44 GV II House pair. Late 1840's. Rendered with slate roof. Mixed Gothick Renaissance details. Three storeys and attic, with rusticated quoins and cornice with pineapple finials to roof with 2 pedimented gables, and stacks to left and to right. One sash in each gable. Four sashes with vertical glazing bars on second floor, the outer 2 with label hoods, the inner with pilaster surround, bracketted sill and cornice. Similar but larger centrepiece on first floor, with canted bays to left and to right with cast iron balusters with bowed acanthus leaf rails. Two full height glazing bar sashes on ground floor, with central semi-circular porch with central rusticated piers and wall, and 2 half-glazed doors with rectangular fanlights. Two storey late C20 garage extension to left. Part of J.C. Eddel's development of Vale Square. See item 12/389.
