Two glass bangles, found in the late 19th century in a field near Milton Regis Church (TQ 9090 6541), by workmen digging for brick earth, have recently been presented to the Royal Museum, Canterbury, by the granddaughter of Henry Packham (Messrs. Wills and Packham occupied fields for digging brick earth in the area). Such bangles occur in both Roman and Saxon contexts. The only record of Saxon burials here is in 1889 (TQ 96 NW 11). Museum accession numbers RM 7967 and RM 7968. (1) (For Roman burials in the area see TQ 96 NW 9 and TQ 96 NW 6.) Two glass bangles found near the church are on exhibition in the Royal Museum, Canterbury. Accession numbers RM 7967-8. They are of green glass with moulded decoration and both have an outside diameter of 3.7 inches; it is not certain whether they are Roman or Anglo-Saxon (2). Additional reference (3).
