The following text is from the original listed building designation:
RAMSGATE CHAPEL PLACE TR 3765 SE (north-west side) 8/88 Nos. 21 to 33 (odd numbers) and railed steps GV II Terrace row. Circa 1820. Stock brick, Nos. 21 and 23 rendered. Three storeys and basement with parapet, stepped up twice to left. Each house unit with regular fenestration of 3 windows on 2nd and 1st floors, all now sashes, with central French window and ornate cast iron balcony on 1st floor of No. 31 only. Two sashes on ground floor and central doors to all but Nos. 23 and 25, which are set to left and to right respectively to form a pair, with a smaller round arched opening between, now a window, originally a passageway? Doors of 6 fielded panels, some now half- glazed, No. 33 with integral lamp and bracket, with semi-circular fanlights, the tracery surviving in some cases, in double rebated and keyed semi-circular surrounds. Basement openings to left and right of doorways (some now blocked) All openings with rendered heads. No. 31 with splayed window recesses chamfered in to soffit. Scrolled rails to short flight of steps, and simple grills to basement openings. Shown on Collard and Hurst's 1822 plan of Ramsgate, and built as a scheme with No. 5 to 19 and the now demolished late C18 chapel between the 2 rows (Busson, 37 and 68).
