Full Description

The following text is from the original listed building designation:
RAMSGATE HIGH STREET TR 3765 SW ST. LAWRENCE (north-west side) 7/220 Group of 11 brick chest tombs to south of chancel of Church of St. Laurence GV II Group of 11 brick chest tombs. Pettit Gold, d.1801, and family. Built into the footpath wall, with simple top slab. The inscription still retains the original gold coloured paint, a pun on the name of the family. Robert Ticknor, d.1711, adjacent to the Church. Moulded stone top slab, inscribed and with Death's head and palm frond motifs. The other chests are of varying size and height with inscriptions (often illegible) in either moulded stone top slabs or heavy crude marble slabs, all mid C18.
