Full Description
Roman coins found near ruined chapel (TQ 96 SE 2) in the adjoining field. (1) In the Church Field adjoining Stone Chapel have been found silver coins of Hadrian, and Antoninus Pius, and bronze coins of Allectus, Constantinus, Jul. Crispus, Maximus and Avitus (2). [Area TQ 9915 6128] Named Church Field on 1849 Tithe Map of Stone. Finds now sited to this field (3). There is no record of any subsequent finds from this field which was under crop at time of visit (4). Additional references (5,6).
