Monument record TQ 96 SE 9 - Possible site of Anglo-Saxon jetty, Osiers Farm , Teynham

Summary

In 1927 four wooden piles were found on the stream below Osiers Farm. In conjunction with fragments of a large late Saxon pitcher found near the farm , this could suggest an eigth to ninth century settlement at this spot. Pinpointing exactly where the wooden piles were found has been impossible.
