Full Description

The following text is from the original listed building designation:
RAMSGATE THE PARAGON TR 3764 SE 18/293 Nos. 23 and 24 and railed Areas GV II House pair. 1840's. Rendered on stock brick, exposed on return elevations. Slate roof. Four storeys and basement, with giant pilasters left and right, and central coupled pilasters supporting entablature to 3rd floor, with balustraded parapet and stacks to left and to right. Four sashes on 3rd floor with central semi-circular headed niche, and 4 sashes on 2nd floor. Later C19 tented and glazed wooden verandah on 1st floor. Four sashes on ground floor with 2 central half-glazed doors with semi-circular fanlights, with 5 moulded steps each. Sashes to basement. Simple rails to steps and Areas. The decorative motifs take their cue from the Royal Crescent opposite. Included for group value.
