Monument record TQ 96 SE 10 - Tumulus with possible cist, Sandown, near Teynham

Summary

In the late 19th century, a small tumulus was reported at the top of Sandown Hill Excavation unearthed a small quantity of Iron Age pottery accompanied by bone fragments and charcoal. There was evidence for a cist, long since emptied. By the 1960s, the tumulus had been removed.
