Full Description

The following text is from the original listed building designation:
RAMSGATE PARADISE TR 3765 SE (north-west side) 8/279 Nos. 3 and 5 GV II House pair. Early C18. Painted and rendered brick with plain tiled roof. Two storeys and attic on plinth with boxed eaves with kneelered parapet gables, with flush skylight to left and flat roofed dormer to right and stack to end right. Four multi-paned wooden casements on 1st floor, shallow C20 bow to left and 2 wooden casements to right with flying cornices on ground floor. Multi-paned door to left in moulded surround with Neo-Classical motifs enriching frieze to cornice. Boarded door recessed to right with rectangular fanlight. Paradise was the favoured retirement abode for old sea-dogs, hence the name. (See Busson, 69; 1735 plan, Busson 70; Collard and Hurst 1822). Included for group value.
