The following text is from the original listed building designation:
RAMSGATE ROYAL ESPLANADE TR 3764 SW (south side) 17/344 Croquet Pavillion GV II Sports pavillion (croquet or putting green). 1924. Sir John Burnet . Rendered brick. Single storey arcaded pavillion, with 8 Doric columns in antis, the doors to service rooms to rear. Projecting side blocks, the whole with frieze and cornice and topped with balustrade; cast iron flag pole on centre pier of balustrade. Simple doorways to return fronts, with flanking flights of stairs to simple cast iron gates. The pavillion set into road-embankment with access on to roof area from road. The doorways with iron sheeting doors at present, original window openings in projecting side pieces now blocked. Part of the Westcliff improvements undertaken by Sir John Burnet and Partners (See C. Busson, the Book of Ramsgate, p. l10-lll).
