The following text is from the original listed building designation:
ST NICHOLAS AT WADE DOWN BARTON ROAD TR 26 NE (north side) 1/86 Barn about 50 metres north-west of Down Barton GV II Barn. C16. Timber framed and clad with weather board with corrugated iron roof. Roof hipped to left and gabled to right. Catslide outshots projecting to centre and right. Boarded cart doors to centre right (raking mid-strey on opposite elevation). Interior: 6 bays with aisles, originally with more bays to east (right end of elevation). Passing shores to arcade posts. Clasped purlin roof, part altered with diagonal struts. Included for group value.

At some time between 2003 and 2007 the western part of the barn was demolished, following a fire.
