[TQ 9751 6211] Parsonage Farm [NAT] (1) The nameboard reads "The Old Rectory" and the owner, Mr W. Sandy, stated that this is the name the house is now known by. It is a black and white thatched cottage, the half timbered walls packed with wattle and daub, over-plastered. There are four original oak mullioned windows now blocked up, and an oak door. The east and north walls are jettied out over the ground floor. The south end and part of the west wall have been rebuilt with brick. The chimneys have been restored and the thatched roof is new. Within, Mr Sandy has uncovered the oak beams of the ceilings and roof, and found Biblical Texts painted upon the plaster of the walls, in German Type.
