Summary

A polished flint celt was found around 1882 in Millichamp's brickfield, north of Teynham Railway Station. It measured five by two and a half inches. Its exact provenance is uncertain.

Full Description

Highly polished grey flint celt, 5 inches long, two and a half inches wide. From Millichamp's brickfield, to the north of Teynham Railway station. [All the brickfields north of the railway station and south of Conyer have long been disused and are under cultivation.] (1). The Payne Collection has been dispersed to the British, Rochester and Maidstone Museums. Exact provenance of the above celt not ascertained (2). Additional reference (3).
