Full Description

The following text is from the original listed building designation:
HILDENBOROUGH MILL LANE (west side) TQ 54 NE 5/155 Stables about 45m west - of Limes Farmhouse GV II
3 ranges of stables. Probably early/mid C19. Framed construction, clad in weatherboarding; corrugated iron roofs; south west wing re-fronted in brick.
Plan: Overall U plan, the main range facing south with south west and south east wings. 16 stables in all.
Exterior: Single-storey. Roof gabled at ends with stable doors to each stable. The south east wing abuts a barn which has been converted to stabling.
Interior: Plain C19 interiors with boarded crosswalls and matchboard partitions.
Group value with Limes Farmhouse and other listed buildings in the farmyard.

Only one small section at the western end is of 19th century date, the rest does not appear on Ordnance Survey mapping until the 3rd edition 25" (1907-1923).
