The following text is from the original listed building designation:
HADLOW HARTLAKE ROAD, GOLDEN GREEN TQ 64 NW 6/67 Thompsons Oast and - Thompsons Roundels
GV II
Oasthouse converted into 2 houses. Mid/late C19, converted circa 1980. Red brick, front of former stowage is weatherboarded; slate roof to former stowige, peg-tile roofs to former hop kilns.
Plan: Former oasthouse facing south west. The ground floor front was formerly open with hop floor above. 4 hop kilns attached to rear.
Exterior: Ground floor front wall is recessed slightly behind 5-bay arcade of cast iron columns. Centre bay and centre right now contain garage doors. Other bays filled with brick. Windows here and regular row of 5 first floor windows are C20 casements with glazing bars. Similar windows inserted into former hop kilns which have tall conical roofs and are surmounted by cowls.
