[TQ 975 629] Buckland deserted medieval village, Listed. (1) Maurice Beresford and John G. Hurst eds. Deserted Medieval Villages, 1971, list 69 places for Kent in their County Gazetteer of D.M.V.s. In most cases there is nothing to prove that there ever was a village at the site in question. A deserted church site or isolated church does not prove the existence of a deserted village. (2)
