2/38 Kitchen garden wall and The Bothy to the north of Mereworth - Castle

Red brick kitchen garden wall, a complete rectangle. Late C18 on inside of wall to east The Bothy. Mid-late C19 cottage. Red brick ground-floor, ren- dered 1st floor. Thatched roof with tiled catslide to north. 2 storeys, with 1st floor lead cone-roofed turrets on brackets to south-east and south- west. Diamond lattic casements. In north-east corner of wall, 1 storey, red brick gardeners cottage with slate roof. 2 windows with central boarded door.

In 2020, a heritage statement was completed in relation to the proposed construction of a packing shed to process the soft fruit from the orchards in the northern section of the gardens, located north of the A26 and near to the orchards and kitchen garden. (2)
