TQ 55 SE IGHTHAM Ivy Hatch 3/32 Wilmot Cottage

Cottage, formerly 2 cottages and said to have been a tavern at one time. 2 builds, left hand 3 bays late C17 or early C18, right-hand bay added in late C18 or early C19 in matching materials. Built of Kentish ragstone coursed rubble to ground floor with brick dressings and tile hung 1st floor. Hipped pegtiled roof with brick chimneystacks, 2 storeys and attics; 4 windows. 2 hipped dormers to earlier part. 4 window openings with one cambered arch to ground floor but windows boarded over at-time of survey. Deep ragstone plinth with brick band of 2 courses at top. Doorcase in centre of earlier part has plank door and iron hinges. Brick chimneystack to centre of earlier part and external brick chimneystack on south east elevation. Outsthut to north elevation.
