Full Description

Chipped brown flint celt, enamelled [patinated?] on one side only. 4.5 inches long, 3 inches wide. Found on a heap of flints on the summit of Constitution Hill, near Rodmersham Green. [Collection dispersed, most going to Rochester, where this find most likely is held.] (1) The Payne Collection has been dispersed to the British, Rochester and Maidstone Museums. Present location of the above flint axe not ascertained. (2)
