Summary

Grade II listed building. Main construction periods 1633 to 1899. Barn to the East of Yotes Court. A mid 17th century barn and stables, built of red brick on a coursed stone plinth, with a plain tile roof. On top of the roof is an 18th century cupola.

(TQ 65055335) TQ 65 SE MEREWORTH MEREWORTH ROAD (north side) 2/26 Barn to the east of Yotes Court (formerly listed as Stables with 1.8.52 Yotes Court) II Barn. Mid C17.Red brick on wide plinth of coursed stone blocks. Plat bands above ground-floor and 1st floor. Plain tiled roof with C18 cupola. 2 storeys. 3 windows. Thick banded, rendered and painted window surrounds with keystones. Triple casements with heavy mullions.Contemporary extension to east with C19 red and grey brick front elevation. Plain tiled roof, with cornice-band at level of 1st floor plat band of adjoining block. At same point the lawn part was used as an oast-house with 3 squares in the roof, originally for oast-cowls, and various door openings to the north. 6 bays. Lath and plaster wall to north, internally, with some jowled posts. (1)
