HADLOW HARTLAKE ROAD, GOLDEN GREEN TQ 64 NW 6/70 Hartlake Oast House and - Hartlake Roundels

Oasthouse with 3 hop kilns, now converted to 2 houses. Mid C19 converted circa 1976. Brick with peg-tile roofs.
Plan: Circa 1976 a relatively large oasthouse was converted to 2 houses. The former stowage faces east south east, say east, away from the lane and has 3 circular hop kilns on its north end. The stowage is 2 storeys.
Exterior: Regular 5-window front of C20 casements with glazing bars and includes a first floor doorway (a former loading hatch) with an external flight of wooden steps. All the openings including the doorways have low segmental arches over. The roof is half-hipped at the south end. The former hop kilns have cornices of cogged brick. The tall conical kiln roofs are complete with cowls.
Interior: Not inspected.
This former oast forms part of a good group of listed buildings along Hartlake Road.
