The following text is from the original listed building designation:
HADLOW CHURCH STREET TQ 63 49 7/42 Hodg headstone approx 9m east - of the chancel of the Church of St Mary

Headstone. Dated 1731 in memory of Sarah Hodg (sic.). Sandstone. Upright slab standing approx 450mm high with curvilinear-shaped double head and recessed front panel. Both heads are crudely carved with winged cherub heads. Inscribed in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering; it records the death of Sarah Hodg in 1731.
