[TQ 6296 5978] Wrotham Water (NAT) (1) Two bee-boles, probably Elizabethan, are built into a dismantled chimney-stack on the south wall of the mainly Elizabethan house at Wrotham Water. (2) Wrotham Water is a brick two-storeyed house of c.1700 date; it is of little architectural interest. The so-called bee-boles are a later addition, in a similar brick, to the south front of the house. Property of the National Trust. GP: AO/59/188/8.(3) TQ 65 NW WROTHAM C.P. WROTHAM WATER ROAD (west side) 5/17 Wrotham Water Farmhouse II Farmhouse. C16 in origin with C18 and C19 elevations. South front: Red and blue brick with tile-hanging in gables of end return wings. Half-hipped plain tiled roof with 2 hipped dormers and 2 ridge stacks. 2 storeys and attics; irregular fenestration of casement windows. Central door. Steep-pitched catslide extension to rear with projecting wing to right and C20 brick porch to left. (4) Not mentioned in The Buildings of England. (5) TQ 629597.
