Monument record TQ 65 NE 351 - Former site of barn 25 yards east of Church Farmhouse

Summary

Former site of a Grade II* listed building. Main construction periods 1500 to 1599. A barn once stood 25 yards [ 23 metres] east of Church Farmhouse in Offham. It was of 16th century weatherboarded construction on a plinth which was part rubble and part concrete. It had a hipped, thatched roof. There was a wagon entrance to the east and a hipped, projecting wagon entrance to the west. Inside there were 5 bays under a collar-purlin roof and 4 crown posts. It was demolished in the gales of 1990.
