Description from record TQ 65 SE 55 :
Originally built in 1844 but demolished and rebuilt in 1856 as one of three Tudor style stations constructed by the SER. A large two storey station similar to Aylesford but in brick with ashlar margins with a seperate station masters house enlarged in 1899. The rest of the station has also been enlarged in the same style to form a long series of buildings along the platform. Platform shed of standard wooden SER type plus valancing added later on down platform. (1)

Mid C19 Railway Station in Tudor Gothic style, built for the South Eastern Railway Company. Red brick with grey headers, tiled gabled roofs. 2-storey, 2 window central block, flanked by 2 storey, 1 window wings, slightly less tall. Stone gable parapets with moulded kneelers to end gables of central block and wings. Central gabled semi-dormer with stone parapet and moulded kneelers. End stacks to main block with doubled square chimneys placed diagonally. 2 large ground-floor windows with single central mullions. Elon- gated hexagonal lattice casements. Central 3-centered arched entrance with drip-mould. 2 semi-dormers on rear. Later 1-storey wing to left. Possibly built by Lewis Cubitt as a private house.
