Listed Building record TQ 64 NW 231 - GOLDHILL HOUSE

Summary

Grade II listed building. Large house of early 19th century date (although the lower part of the rear wall is probably 17th century) with mid or late 19th century additions and a circa 1970 conservatory. The house faces northwest and is of double depth plan, of two storeys with attics and cellar, in red brick (Flemish bond) with some burnt headers and a slate roof. There is a kitchen/bakehouse block (of two storeys) set well back on the right side, apparently a mid 19th century addition or rebuild. The central bay of the main house breaks forward, the central doorway is approached by two stone steps and there is a flat roofed Tuscan porch with moulded entablature. The main block has moulded eaves cornice and hipped roof. The kitchen/bakehouse block roof is also hipped.
