The following text is from the original listed building designation:
HADLOW BLACKMANS LANE TQ 64 NW 6/11 Oasthouse approx 80m north of Bournside Farmhouse

Oasthouse, now used as stables. Probably mid C19, the stowage modernised in mid c20. Flemish bond red brick including some burnt headers, white-washed on the south side of the stowage; slate roof to stowage, peg-tile roofs to hop kilns.
Plan: Stowage on an east west axis. 2 storeys with 3 hop kilns on the east end.
Exterior: South front of stowage has a large central doorway and a window each side. At first floor level 2 windows and at right end a loading hatch doorway. All the windows and doors are C20 and ground floor ones have concrete lintels. Low pitch roof is hipped both ends. All 3 hop kilns have been converted to stables and have doorways through east sides. They are circular in plan with cogged brick eaves cornices. Relatively low pitch conical roofs. They are missing their cowls.
Interior: Has plain carpentry detail.
