The following text is from the original listed building designation:
HILDENBOROUGH LONDON ROAD (north east side) TQ 54 NE 5/128 Cosling memorial about 26m - north of the west wall of the chancel of the Church of St John GV II
Memorial. Early C20. Cast iron. A freestanding cast iron tablet crowned with a draped urn. The upper corners of the tablet are decorated with bulbous finials and, at the base, the tablet is supported on 3 short balusters with scrolls to left and right. The memorial commemorates William Cosling, died 1908.
An unusual cast iron memorial.
