The following text is from the original listed building designation:
HADLOW CHURCH STREET TQ 63 49 7/50 Saxby headstone approx 3m - south east of the chancel of the Church of St Mary

Headstone. Dated 1789 in memory of Elizabeth Saxby. Sandstone. Upright slab standing approx lm high. Shaped head carved in low relief featuring a boy and girl reading books. Inscribed in Roman serif upper and lower case after Gothic lettering it records the death of Elizabeth Saxby in 1789 and her husband John in 1790.
