The following text is from the original listed building designation:
TQ 64 SW PEMBURY OLD CHURCH ROAD
5/413 Woodward headstone approx 1.5m north of the chancel of the Old Church of St Peter GV II
Headstone. Dated 1731 in memory of the Reverend Richard Woodward. Upright sandstone slab standing approx 750mm high. It has a curvilinear shaped head and the front is recessed with a moulded frame. The head is inscribed with an hourglass motif over crossbones amongst leafy scrolled decoration. The inscription in neat Roman serif upper and lower case lettering records the death of Richard Woodward in 1731.
