CRANBROOK BIDDENDEN ROAD TQ 83 NW (NORTH SIDE) 4/31 Sissinghurst Oast and Roundels - 80 yards north west of the west range of Sissinghurst Castle GV II
Oast and roundel pair, now restaurant. Late C19, extended in early C20. Red and some blue brick with sloping brick buttresses to each side. Oversailing brick eaves cornice to plain tiled roof, hipped to right, from which grow 6 oasts in 2 rows of 3, with pyramidal roofs, weatherboarded cowls and wind-vanes. Two roundels to the east with tiled roofs, weather-boarded cowls and wind-vanes. Large boarded garage doors to right on the west side. Two boarded doors on the first floor to left, flanking 2 windows with boarded shutters and one boarded door to right on the ground floor. Wooden gallery runs along west side to left, mounted by steps from right.
