The following text is from the original listed building designation:
THE PANTILES 1. 1746 (North West Side) Nos 8 and l0 TQ 5838 NW 1/11 20.5.52 II GV 2. Originally one house. Cl8. 3 storeys with a painted front grooved in imitation of masonry. Eaves cornice. 2 sashes with some glazing bars missing. Modern shop fronts. Colonnade with slender columns. Nos 2 to 28 (even) and Nos 38 to 72 (even) form a group.
