The following text is from the original listed building designation:
HIGH STREET 1. 1746 (North West Side) Nos 76 and 78 TQ 5838 NW 1/225 II GV 2. Mid C19 altered. 3 storeys. Old tiled roof. 3 windows. 1 metal framed sash and 2 mullioned and transomed casements. No 76 has applied eclectic timber- framing. Later shopfronts. Nos 64 to 78 (even) form a group.
