The following text is from the original listed building designation:
HORSMONDEN GOUDHURST ROAD TQ 7040-7140 (south side) 7/37 Tanyard House 20.10.54 GV II
House. C18. Red brick ground floor and tile hung first floor with plain tiled roof. Two parallel ranges (single build). Two storeys and basement with attic on plinth with brick cogged string course to first floor and moulded wooden modillion eaves cornice to gambrel roof with stacks to end left and to end right and with 2 flat roofed dormers. Regular fenestration of 3 glazing bar sashes on first floor and 2 tripartite glazing bar sashes on ground floor with central door of 6 panels with traceried rectangular fanlight and doorcase with pilasters and cornice. Basement opening to right. Rear range with identical detailing and boarded door in C20 lean- to outshot. Reported marble fireplaces and folding window shutters and earlier framed rear section with kitchen inglenook.
