HAWKHURST SLIP MILL LANE TQ 7430-7530 (west side)
16/430 Chittenden Lodge
GV II Coach-house, now cottage. Circa 1880 by George Devey. Red brick and timber frame, exposed with plaster infill, with plain tiled roof. Two storeys on plinth, the first floor slightly jettied on all sides on moulded brackets, with moulded bressummers and bargeboards to gable. Raking half-dormer and wooden casement on first floor, with 2 cross windows and half-glazed door to right on ground floor, and large picture window to left in carriage entry. Three-light wooden casements on each floor in gable ends. Included for group value.
