Summary

Grade II listed building. Farmhouse built for the Denson-Wellar Charity in the 17th century, now a house. Timber framed on a brick plinth with weatherboard cladding and tile hanging above the ground floor on in the north gable, the roofs are of plain tile. The building has a baffle entry plan and is of two storeys with attics. There is an early 20th century, single storey extension to the left.

CRANBROOK SWATTENDEN LANE TQ 73 SE (South side) 6/265 - Charity Farmhouse GV II
Farmhouse, now house. C17. Timber-frame on brick plinth. Weatherboarded cladding with tile-hung above ground floor in north gable and plain tiled roofs, half-hipped to right, and half-hipped with extra large gable to left. Large central ridge stack. Baffle entry plan. 2 storeys and attics. 2 window front, wood-framed casements. Central doorway with panelled door and flat hood. Early C20 2-storey single-bay. Extension to left. Square bay on right hand and catslide outshut to rear. Built for the Denson-Wellar Charity. (Maidstone Archives).
