The following text is from the original listed building designation:
SANDHURST TQ82NE RYE ROAD 1350-0/6/216 (North side) Crouch Cottage and Ringle Crouch Cottage GV II Cottage pair. Late C18, refenestrated in C19. Ground floor red brick, 1st floor tile hung with alternate bands of plain and curved tiles. Gambrel tiled roof with end brick stacks. 2 storeys and attics in gable end; 3 windows. C19 casements. 2 doorcases with flat weather hoods on brackets.
