The following text is from the original listed building designation:
GOUDHURST LONDON ROAD TQ 63 SE (south side)
8/212 Chingley Manor II House. C17 or earlier, altered, clad and enlarged late Cl9 and late C20. Timber framed and clad with red brick and sandstone on ground floor and tile hung on 1st floor, with plain tiled roof. Two storeys and garret with project- ing gable to left and stacks to end left and to centre right. Three leaded wooden mullioned casements on each floor, and boarded door to centre right. Hipped rear 2 storey extensions.

A 14th or 15th century building. The western part of this building is all that remains of a monastic building which at one time belonged to Boxley Abbey. The upper portions of the walls are timber framed. It is suggested that the eastern section dates from between 1550 and 1600
