The following text is from the original listed building designation:
GOUDHURST FINCH COCKS TQ 63 NE 4/171 Ha-ha about 75 metres west of Finchcocks
GV II Ha-ha. C18 and extended early C19. Sandstone and extended with red brick. About 3 feet high, and extending over 100 metres in a sinous course north to south, and returned to the east at both ends. Buttressed and with additional brick retaining wall at southern end by adjacent walled garden.
