Full Description
(TR 04072544). St Lawrence's Church (NR) (site of) (1) St Lawrence's Church, Old Romney, `though its site is known, was evidently destroyed by the middle of the C16th'. (2) Site levelled but building debris can still be seen. Published survey OS 25" revised. (3) Recent metal detector finds comprise two Medieval buckles, 6 coins of Edward I and a copper alloy Roman coin, probably of Vespasian. Bone seen in topsoil, some of which were human. (Kent County Museum Service Accession No. F5940). (4)
