The following text is from the original listed building designation:
LONDON ROAD 1. 1746 Nos 8A and 9 TQ 5838 NW 1/241 II GV 2. Under the same roof span with No 8. Mid C19. 4 storeys and basement red brick. Hipped slate roof. 2 sashes with glazing bars intact and 2 3 light sashes on the 1st floor. Later C19 shop fronts. Nos 8, 8A and 9 form a group.
